CVT  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (-47)                                                                   CT-18

Make a 3 by 9 inch  CVT template as follows (see SK-6) :
     
              Use "card" stock
              Mark the center line and point "B"
              Cut out the one inch circle

Place the engine on a flat, clean surface.

Slide the template over the engine shaft with the center line showing.

Measure from the base to the center of the engine shaft and  RECORD.

Measure from the base to point "B" and adjust template to read the same as recorded above.
The center line should be parallel to the base.

Tape the template in place. (use masking tape)

Use a sharp tool (X-ACTO knife), punch through the three small mounting holes and cut
out the template to match.

Untape the template

Measure from the base up to point "B".  Rotate the  template so point "B" is one inch higher
than the center of the engine shaft.

Tape the template in place.

Punch through and cut out the three small mounting holes.

Punch through and cut out the large engine mounting hole.

Remove the template.

The template now has the new mounting holes for the CVT mount plate.

Place the template on the front surface of the CVT mount plate.

Center the template over the shaft hole and align with the three small mount holes.
The top of the template should be parallel to the upper lip of the mount plate.

Tape the template in place.

On the mount plate, mark the location of the three new small mount holes and the the
large mount hole.

Drill  new small mount holes and large mount hole in mount plate.

Mount plate on engine using new mount holes. Center of large pulley should be one inch higher than
center of engine shaft from the base.
