| BATTERY BOX FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION (-05) CT-16 Bend front,bottom and back from one piece of sheet stock or weld from three pieces. See Drawing 115 Attach ends and retainers. Drill mount and drain holes. Mount Battery Box: Mount box centered across the main rails of the center frame. Back of the box must rest against the forward frame with the Bunge retainer pointing aft. Clamp box in place. Weld box to main rails only. Attach starter solenoid to aft side of box (see Drawing 115). If solenoid interferes with access to engine oil plug, move to left side of box. Install battery with negative terminal to the right. Place battery pads on all four sides of battery. Run a short Bunge Cord from retainer over battery to Bunge retainer on forward frame, Drawing 119. Route battery negative lead to ground on right side of battery box. Route battery positive lead to solenoid, Drawing 116. Route battery overflow tube through retainer and cut off two inches below retainer. |
