| ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS, FORWARD FRAME CT-5 REV-A 1 of 2 Complete the basic Upper and Lower Rectangles. . Install A-arm attach fins. (see SK-3) Attach Fins "A" and "D". Place Fin "B" in position and pass AF-3 through A,B and D. You may have to remove some material from Fin "B" to position it properly against the rectangle. Weld fin "B" in position. Repeat this procedure for Fin "C". Repeat this procedure on both sides of the Upper and Lower Rectangles. The use of AF-3 assures that all bolt holes for the A-arms are in alignment and corrects any veriations introduced during the manufacture of the fins. . Assemble Forward Frame (see SK-1) Place the main "block" of AF-2 with the in. reference line up. Place the Upper Rectangle across the block with the fins pointing down. Align the outer side of the rectangle with the in. reference line. Place a 1 by 4 across the frame in the center of the block and attach with two screws. (see SK-1) CRITICAL: Measure from the outer side of the rectangle to the edge of Side-A near both ends of the block. This should be in. If not, adjust the position of the rectangle and tighten the screws in the 1 by 4 to hold it firmly in position. Invert the block and place the lower rectangle across the block with the "fins" pointing up. Align the outer side of the rectangle with the 1 and reference line. Insure that the forward end is positioned in the same direction as the upper rectangle. Place a 1 by 4 across the frame in the center of the block and attach with two screws. CRITICAL: Measure from the outer side of the rectangle to the edge of Side-A near both ends of the block. This should be 1 and in. If not, adjust the position of the rectangle and tighten the screws in the 1 by 4. CT-5 REV-A 2 OF 2 CRITICAL: Measure from the end of the block to the outer sibe of the forward end of the lower Rectangle. This distance must be the same as that for the upper rectangle. If not adjust the rectangle to make them both the same. Tighten the screws in the 1 by 4 to hold the rectangle firmly in place. QUALITY CHECK: Repeat all measurements and confirm the screws are firmly tightened. Refer to drawing 102. This assembly should look like the FRONT PROFILE and the SIDE PROFILE on the drawing (minus the verticals). Cut,fit and weld the front VERTICLES. They are not truly vertical, but move apart at the top. Cut, fit and weld the rear VERTICLES. These slope slightly forward because the upper rectangle is slightly shorter. Remove AF-2 and store to use on your next vehicle. This completes fabrication of the forward frame. |
