The front bumper was designed primarily to protect the welded tabs on the underside of the front frame, which hold the A-arms.  It also provides a small carry space in the front.  Sam's plans called for five mounting points on each side - but because this was a non-structural piece, and we were in a hurry to finish, we took a shortcut and used only three.  We used leftover scrap pieces for all of the parts, and the tubing bender to make the bends:
