Restoring existing Relationships and bringing home those who are presently homeless

Dear Mrs Bahari,
I had read your Article “Homeless Wichitans prepare for winter”, dated
In your article, however, you only wrote about their present condition being homeless. If you would permit me, I’d like to offer a simple solution to people sleeping rough…
I am promoting the idea of family as a resource for those who are presently homeless. I am also hopeful to encourage service providers, such as Social Agencies and homeless missions, to ask their homeless client – “Where is your Family?” and act as a third party between the homeless and their families, so some may come Home. I do realize that sending some back to their families would not be safe or wise, however how are we to know that if we do not ask? And even if it is unsafe or unwise or imposible to send someone home, that homeless person still needs to be encouraged to seek out new stable relationships with other stable people. And if you are with a whole Homeless Family, the husband / father has relatives he might call on, if he let’s go of his pride, embarrassment, and fears
If you or any of your staff should write other Article’s on homeless issues, I ask you look to real solutions, to their homelessness, wich most times doesn’t include being homeless. I also ask service providers to help the homeless…not be homeless. Thank you so much for your interest.
Sincerely Yours,
