Restoring existing Relationships and bringing home those who are presently homeless

Thank you for giving me the Topeka expenditure report to me Friday morning. I've been my family In W. KS for two weeks and hadn't checked my email till now.

As per our discussion, you seemed somewhat upset about me getting the rest of the expenditure reports for the other six schools.  As I have stated.  I do not really care how the money is spent or what the programs do, however since those seven schools are "helping" the homeless, then I look at outcomes...are the students still homeless after they leave the program, and what supports or advice is given to the parents of these homeless children?

It is a growing belief that a way to help the homeless.... including whole homeless families... is to help re-connect (or establish NEW-) family relationships.

This isn't a new concept; in fact it's so old that we have forgotten the strengths family has to offer an individual (or even a struggling family)

Of course this cannot help everyone who's homeless, but it IS a piece of the puzzle of homelessness that people aren't really looking at yet.  there are many reasons why programs and missions would think this would be difficult to place in their program, but the one reason I can see to include family as a resource for the homeless is...

so some might come home awhile.

Thanks for working on the other six schools for me.

Sincerely Yours,

David Owen
