| Home Picture of John Green John Green's 26 Convictions for Fraud and Forgery Mr Green claims to be good friends with Kevin Naughton, Senior Media Advisor to Martin Hamilton-Smith, Leader of the Opposition in the South Australian Parliament. "We were great friends in Darwin," Green told me. "Our families were very close." "Quite the opposite," Kevin Naughton laughed cynically when I spoke to him on the phone. [John Green from Barmera] "has 26 convictions for fraud and forgery." "Did he get anything out of you?" I asked. "Lots," Kevin replied. John Green's convictions in various Australian Courts are on the public record. Kevin Norton can confirm these convictions. Green claims to be a former employee of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, but the ABC told me they have no record of his employment. Mr Green is often seen using the internet in Adelaide's public libraries and has been known to use Homeless Forums and Message Boards to make contact with people working in homeless welfare organisations. He arranges to meet them personally... To date he as "borrowed" money from people at Westcare Homeless Centre, Byron Place Homeless Centre and the Disability Information and Resource Centre. The amounts are often over a thousand dollars and from people not wealthy. His reasons are invariably to help his children and family reunions though he has been seen at the Roulette Wheel at the Adelaide Sky City Casino after borrowing $1400 from a mildly disabled man who saved the money from dole cheques while getting food from rubbish bins. He never pays the money back and his paranoid days are spent avoiding places where he might meet people from the past. Yet he continues to cultivate people for the purpose of intimidating his creditors or to make new loans. |
