The telephone number is 410-638-3374 and they are open from 8 AM to 5 PM. To receive faster service you should be screened through the Department of Social Service, Health Department, or Birthright. You can contact them at 2 S. Bond Street, Bel Air or call 410-836-4700.
If you are presently receiving Temporary Cash Assistance or Medical Assistance you will not have to pay a charge to receive child support assistance. If you are not presently receiving these services you will be charged a one-time $25 fee. To save time you may print the forms from your computer and fill them out at home, simply visit the Child Support Site. Call the local Bureau of Support Enforcement at 410-638-8940 for all of your questions.

Food Stamps can be acquired through the Department of Social Services. There is income eligibility so call the Department of Social Services at 410-836-4700 to find out the qualifications. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements contact one of the Food Closets and they will be happy to help you temporarily.
If you are in need of furniture and have a caseworker at the Health Department, Social Services, or Birthright call them and tell them so that they may process your request. If you do not have a caseworker then call Neighbors In Need at 410-638-3374.
Call 410-638-3045 to find out the income eligibility to receive housing. If you are eligible you must fill out an application in their office located at 15 S. Main Street, Bel Air (they will not mail you an application). To learn about more of this program visit their web page http://www.co.ha.md.us/housing. Note to Parents: If you have a child don’t worry about waiting in the office. The application is approximately two pages long and as soon as you complete it you may leave.
Call the Legal Aid Bureau in reference to private issues at 410-836-8202. Call the Public Defender’s Office at 410-836-4880 in reference to criminal matters.
To obtain medical assistance and/or to find out if you are income eligible call the Department of Social Services at 410-836-4700. If you are unable to receive medical assistance you may be eligible for the Maryland Primary Care (MPC) Program if you have a medical condition that requires on-going care. To join this program you must first apply for the Maryland Pharmacy Assistance Program. After you have received your card then call Ellie Lawing, RN, at 410-273-5626 to enroll in the MPC Program.

Pharmacy Assistance is available to income eligible residents. Call 1-800-492-1974 or call the Aberdeen Health Center at 410-273-5626 and speak with Ellie Lawing, RN about the program. If accepted you will only be required to pay a $5.00 co-pay. Once accepted by the Pharmacy Assistance Program you can ask about the Maryland Primary Care (MPC) Program, which provides health services for low-income adults that have medical conditions that require on-going care.
Pregnancy testing can be done for free at Birthright located at 38 E. Gordon Street, Bel Air. Call 410-838-0443 to make an appointment or visit their site for more information.
An application for Purchase of Care can be mailed to you simply by calling the Department of Social Services at 410-836-4700.

To find out if you are income eligible for WIC call 410-273-5656. You are automatically income eligible if you
receive medical assistance, food stamps, or temporary cash assistance. This program will offer foods such as:
formula for infants, milk, cheese, juice, peanut butter, eggs, dried beans, and
cereal.
