Let me start by saying I have a slight bias when writing reviews. My music collection mainly consists of punk and ska with a few misfit bands thrown in for good measure. What it comes down to is three things. Can the band play, does the crowd react and do they rock. Titles can play, the crowd enjoyed the show and they rocked in a very laid back rocking way. Titles are a four piece hailing from New Haven. Their new self-titled album was literally hot off the presses for the show. Unfortunately the crowd wasn’t strong apparently due to a raging BBQ happening in New London. For those of you who missed the set, it was a beautiful night for a patio show at The Rail. Check Titles at www.myspace.com/titles

Following Titles were our local heavy weights, Low Beam. If you’re actually reading this review then you probably have heard Low Beam. If not, you need to hear their music to understand. You can’t call their four-piece indie, rock or punk. They’re what every band should be, a band not a genre. When I listen to their music I picture a band in the basement of a house party jamming out for a bunch of kids drinking off a keg. Basically its music you can bob your head to and feel good about it. Check out Low Beam out at www.low-beam.com or www.myspace.com/lowbeam

Ok, ok, ok. American Princes came all the way from Arkansas and I couldn’t stick around. I’m a horrible person I know. I did however check out some of their tunes on the web at www.myspace.com/americanprinces. They also have a website at www.americanprinces.com. Check these guys out they sound pretty cool. And since I missed them, maybe someone who was there can fill us all in.

Sorry it took so long.-Shaun
