| Well, it's Fall Fun now! Please remember to bring your child with plenty of changes of clothing! Even, if possible shoes! We go outside, if the weather cooperates and explore the world around us! Therefore, with the morning due, we tend to get a little wet and dirty! The children have discovered the woods! So, with my supervision, we are now allowed to go into a certain are in the wooded part of my yard! Not too far, but far enough that the children can feel the the sense of nature! We talk about how the bark on the trees feel, and what it and the leaves sound like. We also talk a lot about poisen ivy. What it looks like and what happens to you if you tend to be allergic to it. Because of the weather still being warm (again!), the ivy is back. Therefore, we are tending to stay out of the woods, as some children, and myself, are allergic to poisen iby. We are talking about the different colored leaves, and enjoying all the beautiful colors and even the wonderful smell that Fall time brings to us! We are also talking about different parts of the U.S. that do not get to celebrate the beauty of Fall! How different parts of the U.S. do not see the folliage change! We will be doing a lot of celebrating Halloween this year! Please discuss with your children about costumes. Children tend to be afraid during this part of the celebration, but still want the candy! Please let the children know that behind the costumes are just other little children just like them, asking for candy! We are all growing and learning so much here! We are all at that 'wonderful' egocentric age that EVERYTHING is "MINE"!! EVEN if I don't have it in my possession!! This stage IS normal, and a great part of the social and emotional development. A GREAT website to go to, to read mor about this is: http://www.drgreen.com/21_1500.html. This website tells of all the developmental stages our children go through. Please know that communication is very important at all ages and stages of development. If you DO have a question on your child(ren), please let me know, and we can schedule private time to talk. I really prefer to speak privately, and not in front of a child(ren). REMINDER: I will be taking Friday: October 19th off. ENJOY YOUR CHILDREN. THEY GROW SO QUICKLY. |
