When it comes to soap settings, there's no place more dangerous to live rhen Summer Bay. During the past 12 months alone, the towns been hit by a barrage of bad weather, targeted by no less then 3 stalkers, and its residants have spent more time in hospital then at the Beachside Diner! Thankfully, our favourite characters have lived to tell the tale, and when inside Soap invited the cast to share their memories from the past year, they jumped at the chance. And maybe this might remind you why they deserve your all-important deserve your all-important votes for tjose converted Inside Soap awards. What a year it's been - what have been your favourite moments? Paul O'Brian (Jack Holden) I've enjoyed all the fighting between Jack and his on-off girlfrien, Martha - especially when she was dating Corey Henderson, who it turned out was poisoning Irene. It was up to Jack to solve the mystery and save the day. Mark Furze (Ric Dalby) I think i prefered Ric more in the early days, when he was getting into lots of fights! I love filming any scenes that involve stunts. Isaac Gorman (Ryan Baker) I really liked Ryan being horrible to his stepmum, Leah. For me as an actor, it was fun being mean without getting in trouble! What scenes have you found most challenging film? Chris Hemsworth (Kim Hyde) I enjoyed the scenes i did when Kim had a problem with drugs. It was such a big thing for him to go through, and its always a challenge to play a character who's stuggling with so much inner turmoil. Holly Brisley (Amanda Vale) i loved filming the funeral and wake of Amanda's late husband, Graham Walters. Even though she never loved him, she still got dressed up to play the grieving widow! Mark It's always really difficult to cry on screen. My first crying scene was tough but i think i did a good job, and i'm proud. Which members of the cast do you believe should win an award? Paul I'd say Mark, and Kate Ritchie (Sally). The storyline about Sally's husband Flynn's death from cancer was extremely moving, and bit Kate and Joel Mcllroy (Flynn) were amazinf in those scenes. Mark Ray Meagher, who plays Alf. He's been here for so long, and hasn't won anything. He always puts in so much hard work. Are there aby unsung heroes working behind the scenes who deserve an award? Paul Absolutly! All of the crew deserve gong - they work 12-hour days. The sound and lighting teams in the studios do a great job, too. They always make it look like it's sunny outside. Chris I agree with Paul - everyone deserves an award. It doesn't seem fair that the crew work so hard, yet it's only the cast who get acknoledged for it. Holly I think the writers should definatly be rewarded for their hard work. I just don't know where they get all their ideas from - it's remarkable! What have been your personal highlights, away from work? Holly Getting married to my lovely husband, Paul Ford. It was an amazing day. Chris I went on a fantastic surfing trip with my two brothers to Victoria, which is where i'm originally from. It was alot colder then Summer Bay. I can tell you! Who's the funniest member of the H&A cast? Paul I think Lyn Collingwood, who plays Colleen is hilarious. Mark I second that. I nominated her last year, but she's keeping her material fresh! Chris Lynna McGranger (Irene) is fantastic. She's one of my favourite actresses, both on screen and off. Holly I' have to say Mark. He and I have some nice little barter going on. How have viewers reacted to you? Paul They've been really good. People seem to like Jack, and his relationship with Martha. His police uniform probably appeals to a lot of viewers, too! Mark I think most people like Ric because he's a tough guy - he's a bit of an action-hero type. Chris The love triangle storyline with Kim Scott and Hayley was interesting, and people would shout to me, "The baby's not yours!" - as if i didn't know! Which award would you most like to win? Mark I'd like to win Best Bitch! And i've actually dressed up in drag as Ric before. Paul Jacks a nice character, so if there was an award for best good guy, i reckon i'd be in with a chance of winning. Chris I'd be happy to recieve any award - as long as it wasn't for 'worst' anything! Inside Soap, July 2006 |
