The Diner has had many people work in it over the last 14 years, these have included Ailsa, Alf, Bobby, Carly, Irene, Angel, Finn, Martin, Curtis, Chloe, Blake, Roxy, Marilyn, Jesse, Vinnie, Gypsy, Leah, Colleen, Robbie, Belle and even Matt who went into the patery in 1990 to get some sugar and hasn't been seen since.
In Pippa Fletcher's 10 years in the show she has cooked over 3500 cakes and 10,000 muffins for the surf club, the wave cafe and her very large family.
In Sally's 20 years on the show she has played some part in 9 of the 16 weddings to occur in the Bay. She played bridesmaids to Bobby & Frank, Carly & Ben and Pippa & Michael in an assortment of... em - very colourful dresses. She then read at Bobby & Greg's wedding in a lovely floral dress!! YUM!! She then got to wear a series of white gowns and dresses in Chloe's wedding to James, Leah's wedding to Vinnie and on her own wedding to dishy doc Flynn (although due to the rain she actually got married in a lovely white dressing gown). She wore a very interesting number to the recent wedding of Leah and Dan along with Hayley. Not forgetting the other time Sally was seen in a dress at a wedding - her non-wedding to Kieran!!!! - Thats quite a few - i hope Kate got to keep the dresses - well the fashionable ones anyway!!!
The Summer Bay caravan Park has been home to most of the home and away characters at one point or another; Alf and Roo lived there with Martha before the show aired and the first episode showed Alf selling it to Tom Fletcher. Tom and Pippa Fletcher moved their very large fostered family in and became the host to many young kids over a period of 10 years. Sally Fletcher/Saunders, Steven Matheson, Frank Morgan, Carly Morris/Lucini and Lynn Davernport came with Pippa and Tom in 1987 to the Bay. They were soon followed by Bobby Simbson/Marshell Sophie Simbson and Pippa and Tom's own child Chris Fletcher. Tom then died and Pippa re-married Micheal Ross. As kids came and went their house was always full. Haydn Ross, Dale Ross, Damien and Fin Roberts, Sam Marshell, Tamara Simbson, Jack Wilson, Liam Tanner, Shannon Reed, Tiegan Brooks, Justine Welles. When Pippa left Rebecca and Travis Nash took over the house and when Travis' brothers house was burnt down his family moved in too. Travis' brother is Joel. He has a wife (Natalie) and two kids (Tom and Gypsy). After the Nash's came the Sutherlands. Rhyss, Shelley and their 3 daughters Dani, Kirsty and Jade. Rhyss' nephew Max came to stay along with foster kid Brodie Hanson. After Shelley had left and Rhyss had married Beth Hunter and her clan moved in, Kit, Robbie, Matlida and Henry. When Beth and Rhyss seperated Beth swapped houses with Sally and Flynn who lived there with baby Pippa, Ric and Cassie. Flynns death led Alf and Morag to move into help the young family and Cassie moved out after braking Ric's heart. |
