The interiors of the Summer Bay houses are filmed in a studio, space restrictions mean only six Summer Bay homes can be used in a 5 day period.

The Locations are close together on the show but in real life they are hours away from each other.  The Locations used are the Seven Studios for the interior work, Palm Beach for all the scenes outside (outside the surf club and the beach), the school which we all know as Summer Bay High is infact called Rhde and the Caravan Park is actually called Jackaroo Ranch, Kenthurst. Jackaroo Ranch made the headlines after it was burnt down during the bush fires in Australia during the Summer of 2002. On screen the Caravan Park is on the beach but in real life it is 1 1/2 hours away.

The show has an on-set teacher who tutors the young actors who are still continueing with their education. Indiana Evans (Matilda) and Rhys Wakefield (Lucas) are currently the only two studying.

Its always warm in Summer Bay - and never to cold for a swim.  But that's not what the actors reckon when their expected to take a dip at 6:30am on a chilly winter's morning! Luckily, the wardrobe girls are at the ready with hot-water bottles to warm the shivering stars...

A full-time cook's employed on the show to make the burgers in the diner - and special items  like wedding cake, too.  The only time food gets recycled is when the actors need several takes to get a scene right.  Sometimes the caterers even have to dish up raw ingrediants if the script calls for the actors to do some cooking.  The kitchen was super busy when Pippa used to make all the muffins and cakes for the diner.

The current Home And Away theme tune is performed by Israel Cannan who used to play Wazza.

Tennis Champ Leyton Hewitt did a guest spot in 2005 as a guy who took an interest to Hayley.

Australian pop idol, Paulini, appeared on the finale episodes of the 2004 series. She opened Noahs bar and sang Silent Night at Pippa's christening.

Atomic Kitten appeared in the UK episode featuring the book launch and Fisher and Marilyn's re-union.  Nick comes across Atomic Kitten when he gets lost and has to ask for directions.

Australian rock star Jon Farnham - wh starred in the Sydney Olympics celebrations - played himself paying a surprise to Sally in 1996 after she won tickets to one of his concerts but was taken ill and couldn't go.  "I was excited!" says Kate Ritchie.  "I've still got his autograph!"

In 1993 on the day of Angels arrival Frente performed their hit song at a Summer Bay concert as Angel pretended to be with the group.

Behind the scenes Westlife have visited the cast and sets of Home And Away and in the UK series 'Back to the Bay' Girl Thing were given the oppertunity to meet the cast as they were in Australia performing.

It is quite well known in Summer Bay for on-screen romances going off-screen, these have included Tina Thomsen (Finlay) and Andrew Hill (Haydn), Kristy Wright (Chloe) and Shane Ammann (Curtis), Rebecca Cartwright (Hayley) and Beau Brady (Noah) and more recently Indidiana Evans (Matilda) and Rhys Wakefield (Lucas). Sweetest of all Debra Lawrance (Pippa) and Dennis Coard (Michael) who got married after meeting on-set and even had a baby girl (how sweet).

It is also quite common for two of the cast who are not together on - screen but get together off - screen anyway, these have included romances from Amanda Newman-Philips (Narelle) and Greg Benson (Matt), Kristy Wright (Chloe) and Dieter Brummer (Shane), Tammin Sursok (Dani) and Danny Raco (Alex) and Danni Minogue (Emma) and Julian McMahon (Ben) who even got married but later divorced after it was revealed that Julian had been having an affair with one of his co-stars. Ex-residant Dany Raco (Alex) also dated another co-star, Ada Nicodemou who plays his on screen sister. Danny and Ada first met while filming Australian series Heartbreak High. Isabel Lucas (Tasha) and Chris Hemsworth (Kim) have got back together after a brief split and were pictured at the 2006 logies!!
