"Why?" Ezra asked curiously, wondering what could have perturbed his boss.
"Because of Maude."
"She's just my mother."
"But she was dressed as a witch."

"But she was astride a broomstick."

"She was floating in the air on it," Chris said.

"Ezra?" Maude called.

Ezra tiptoed into JD's room and retrieved two items from their usual place on the floor by the bed. He replaced them with two other objects he'd brought with him before backing out of the room smiling.
JD woke and got out of bed, reaching for his slippers blindly.
"Ezra!" he yelled in disgust.
"Yes, JD?" Ezra said as he entered the room innocently.
"Look at me," JD ordered, pointing to his hollowed-out-pumpkin-clad feet.
"They really suit you," the undercover agent laughed. "It seemed a shame to discard them when your slippers were beyond repair. They're perfect footwear, I think you'll agree."
