Mel Gibson
Biography:
Mel Gibson was born and raised in Peekskill, New York(USA), but at 12 years old, he moved to Sydney, Australia since his father didn't want him and his brothers to serve in the Vietnam War. Mel attended Sydney's National Institue Of Dramatic Art. After his first movie (Summer City), he joined The South Australia Theater Company, where he appeared in Shakespeare plays and a few others. Shortly before he auditioned for "Mad Max", he was involved in a street fight that left him badly bruised. Fortunately for him, this gave him an advantage and he was selected for the lead role and with Mad Max's sequel, he became an international star. Mel directed his first film with The Man Without A Face and he received the Best Director and Best Picture oscars for his second one, "Braveheart", which he also produced. He also received the Best Actor and "Sammy" Australian awards for "Tim" and the Best Actor Australian Award for "Gallipoli".
