Also Note: After bringing Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson, Othella Harrington, and Howard Eisley from Utah when he took the reigns of the team, Layden later attempted to right his wrongs by drafting such big free agent names as Tommy Adams, Ronald Blackshear, and Matt Carroll. Ever hear of them? Yeah me neither. Wait, almost forgot, he brought us Travis Knight too. And Don Chaney. And Antonio McDead.
1. Waive shitty european Slavko Vranes who didn't know his ass from his elbow.
3. Get rid of a player who's only use is being in the record books for having the longest name in the nba, (indeed clarence weatherspoon is longer than dikembe mutombo) and pick up a decent back up PG in moochie norris. And he waived John Amaechi, whoever the hell that was.
5. Don Chaney gone, replaced by Lenny Wilkens, a man who has actually heard of the game known to many as basketball.
7. We finally get rid of "The White Michael Jordan" and pass the hemroid know as Keith Van Horn onto Milwaukee for Tim Thomas super athlete and Nazr Muhammed, much needed replacment to a 45 year old Dikemebe.
9. Hard-nosed defender + mid range jump shooter KT40 [Kurt Thomas] gets a contract extension instead of demanding a trade.
10. Perhaps Isiah felt bad for him, or maybe he really thought he could clean up, I'm not really sure. But it was a nice thought to sign Vin Baker, washed-up-all-star extraordinaire.
11. NYKnicks.com was the 7th most visited team site. I'm no witchdoctor, but that just might be a sign of good fortune.
12. Isiah drafts Trevor Ariza with the 43rd pick. That's deep in the second round. And this 19 year-old kid is averaging just about 20-10 in the summer league. Now that's talent evaluation skillz. My guess is he'll do more than all the previous knicks draft picks (besides Mike Sweetney) since Walter McCarty in '96 or good ol' Charlie Ward in '94.
Note: Isiah also drafted Tracy McGrady out of high school while GM of toronto.

If I.T. can bring either Erick Dampier or Jamaal Crawford (Or, please god, both) to the Knicks this offseason, he should be GM of the year. I heard after he retires from basketball Isiah plans on Negotiating a truce between the palestinians and Israelis.
