On running at Satan's top scrummagers with the courage of a firm tomato
Isaiah 19: 2 And I (the Lord God) will set Egyptians against Egyptians:and they shall fight every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fall in the midst thereof; And I will destroy the counsel thereof; and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
Let us put Egypt under the microscope. Egypt means black. God is light. God hates the false teachings of spiritual Egypt.
Their false teachers include astrologers, magicians, mediums and all forms of idol worship. Captives of spiritual Egypt are not united! They are in strife with each other, fighting each one against each other. Embracing God's teaching in the holy Bible will help God take us out of the black or darkness of spiritual Egypt's teachers.
This article is not directed at present day Egypt! Present day Egypt has its unique challenges and I will mention them when I am better informed! During the time of Moses, Pharaoh the king of Egypt passed legislation that promoted child murder.
Their leader had a murderous spirit. This is recorded in Exodus 1:22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
God acted justly in sending the tenth plague upon Egypt. In order to comprehend this unusual action in man's eyes it is important that we remember that God eternal never takes off His teaching attire. By His extraordinary action in killing the first born in Egypt He teaches that He (and not man) shall avenge. God eternal puts it this way Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and I will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
Wherever in the world these gods of Egypt are worshipped teachers and students alike will have Their holy Maker against them. And God spoke these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the land of bondage.
The fight between good and evil resembles real combat. God's will is for us is to turn from all forms of blackness. All sin is blackness. Today you'll find me running about the ruins of 2004 with rugby ball and holy Bible in hand looking like a unfit rugby player who has a hatred for unrighteousness.
The holy Bible teaches that redemption is only accomplished by death. The book of Exodus is largely concerned with the theme of redemption. In order to become a child of God we must be redeemed from bondage in spiritual Egypt. God's overwhelming acts of faithfulness are required to procure for fallen man deliverance.
Exploring and studying under the teachers of spiritual Egypt will bring oppression and increased burdens into our life. Spiritual bondage, bitterness and bankruptcy of understanding result from wrong relationships.
Coming under the true Teacher, Jesus Christ equips us to do great God-honoring and society-serving deeds with rugby ball and holy Bible in hand. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ has a great appetite for purifying mankind I have a great appetite for running around with a rugby ball in hand. When rugby players are properly taught and coached they learn to respect their opponents as persons.
Equally they learn to speak up against their opponents erring, erroneous thinking. After 38 years of playing in the wrong team I am now a member of Jesus Christ's rugby team. He is My Coach. Peace-inclined rugby players do not enjoy being mauled. I don't mind wrestling and running, but I object to martyrdom before my natural years are out.
Our opposition are always the same. They are thieves who have it in their hearts to strip off our confidence in Christ, Our Coach. In order to combat them we are taught to bow our heads together, cling together, push together and pray that the opposition doesn't collapse the scrum as they tear into us and we plead before them that justice is done.
Although I am a peacemaker, Jesus My Redeemer, put me into His team called the All Blacks. Ever since I started playing for them many media commentators write that they have hardly fired a shot. They say that we have been playing as if we are black and the opposition is light. Let us play "rugby" more justly lest we resemble the Israelites who were captive in Egypt during the time of Abraham.
Let us love Jesus Christ more sincerely lest our opposition become our taskmasters. It is clear that Satan's rugby team hate our clean style of playing. In response we hate their dirty tactics. Strengthen us holy God; for they will do anything to put us off our game. Help us to be good sportsman, so that we can teach Your enemies that bullying on the rugby field of life doesn't glorify God.
Empower our team, so that we can teach these troublemakers a lesson with largesse of heart. Help us to ruck out the unrighteousness in their play; for it is biblically unlawful. Guard me against being rough with my fists; for even under provocation this is a sin against My God.
