Parish Statuary

When compared with the "old church" on Pine Street, the decorum of the "new church" on Tahmore Drive seems quite bare, but the "new church" has a natural beauty of its own with the contrast between the white walls and the natural stained wood work. In the sanctuary, the white-faced brick wall adds the finishing touch.

There are places that without any decorum would look very barren, particularly to either side of the sanctuary. On the left side of the sanctuary, the organ pipes supply a beauty of their own. On the right side, something was needed and that is where the statuary of the parish is primarily located.

Blessed Vrigin Mary Saint Joseph Saint Jude

These three statues adorn the wall to the right side of the sanctuary. The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary was donated by the girls' Sodalities and the statue of St. Joseph was donated by Mrs. Dorothy Wade. Both of these statues were donated when the "new" church was built. The statue of St. Jude was donated a while later by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bojnec. Beneath the statues, votive candles may be lit and people may pray using the kneelers.

Our Lady of Fatima

The statue of Our Lady of Fatima graces the far corner to the right of the sanctuary. This statue came from Europe and was donated by an anonymous parishioner. During the month of May, it is moved into the sanctuary to honor the Blessed Mother.

The Resurrected Christ

The statue of the Resurrected Christ was donated the the Society of Christian Mothers for the "new" church and overlooks the baptismal font on the left side of the church except during lent and the Easter season. During lent, the statue is removed from the church. On Holy Saturday, it is brought back into the church in the Procession of the Resurrection after the Easter vigil Mass and placed in the sanctuary where it remains until Penetcost.
