The parish of Holy Cross was founded in 1913 to meet the needs of Slovenian immigrants. Originally located on Pine Street in Bridgeport, the parish relocated to Fairfield in 1972 and continues to nurture the love of God today.
Upon relocating, the Bishop of Bridgeport, Most Reverend Walter Curtis, gave permission for the parish's mission to be altered to serve the local community and as well as those of Slovene descent.
-- Mission Statement --
"The Parish of Holy Cross proclaims the Gospel by coming together with our Slovenian traditions, but welcoming all Catholics, to live and serve as Disciples of Christ."
