Because Father's Day is celebrated in June, we take this opportunity to wish you an outrageously Happy Father's Day... by which we mean something far more electrifying than you could possibly imagine.
In metaphysical literature the "fatherhood principle" is the principle of radiance and "life-givingness" (the broadest sense of the concept of impregnation). "Spiritual impregnation" is often associated with a guru or totally enlightened teacher whose energy continuously "zaps you," so to speak, until you finally explode into light. Such teachers are often called, "Baba," which means "Father."
It is also possibile to spontaneously flash into what Christians could call a "Heavenly Father" experience without the help of an enlightened teacher, but what are the chances of such spontaneous enlightenment when you keep re-constructing your world in your mind for the very purpose of preventing you from the experience of oneness with your Heavenly Father?
In whatever way this overwhelmingly joyous explosion into light occurs for you, our wish is that our Father's energy flash magnificently inside of you, opening you so fully and completely that who you thought you were flashes out of awareness altogether and you discover, not as an intellectual concept but as a glorious experience, you are the Father.
THAT EXPERIENCE... that out-of-this-world experience of Heavenly Glory is the Father's Day experience we wish for you!
Why would you ever play around with lesser fire?
Jesus walked the earth and told those who were willing to listen to him that there was so much more, SO MUCH MORE, available for them to experience. These listeners were happy to be around Jesus' energy, his miracles, his certainty, his "protection," so to speak, but to actually give up the mechanisms of the world to gain the experience of total enlightenment....
"The young man saith unto him, All these things I have kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?" (Matthew 19:20)
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." (Matthew 19:21)
"Certainly you can't mean give up my copyright control!" (Ken 2:22)
Ooops! There wasn't any Ken with Jesus, was there? If there had been a Ken with Jesus he would have been advanced enough spiritually to give up without a second thought something so easy to relinquish as copyright control.
"Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." (Matthew: 5:42)
If you are still not regularly experiencing the flash-out into total enlightenment, the question might arise as it did with the rich young admirer of Jesus: "What am I going to have to quit holding onto in order to explode into the unspeakable ecstatic totality, the state of being which Jesus would call the experience of the Kingdom of Heaven?"
If that question arises in your mind, be happy to let it go unanswered. It's a question Jesus doesn't want you trying to answer. Your Father who dwells in Heaven in you is the one who knows the answer and knows how to give you the answer. It's not for you to figure out.
A Course in Miracles teaches that the experience we really, really, really, really want (and have always wanted) comes when we do nothing. Those of us who know how to move easily into the unbearably joyous and out-of-this world state of Heaven know that the secret is doing nothing.
Our Father gives us everything when we do nothing.
"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12:32)
But doing nothing refers to the intellect and picturing mind, doesn't it?
It makes no sense to talk about a body doing nothing. But the intellect and picturing mind can be stilled totally. The mind can totally surrender for long periods its habits of thinking and fantasizing.
For the mind, doing nothing is not only possible but an easily reachable state once the desire for an expanded electrifying experience is felt strongly enough to make the choice.
When the mind is stilled, the awareness of spirit is heightened. When the mind is trained to hold such stillness, the awareness of spirit explodes in triumphant transfiguration.
The mind can always be squeezed back down into thinking and picturing. But once Home is experienced the way Home is not forgotten.
Can reaching a state of non-thinking, non-picturing mind be taught?
What do you think A Course in Miracles is teaching when it has you attempting to experience the truth of Lesson 4: "These thougths do not mean anything."
What do you think the Holy Spirit is teaching when the first words heard inside in response to most would-be challenging situations are: "Peace! Be still! You need do nothing! Wait... and see what happens!"
What do you think gurus and master teachers teach when their lightening bolts of energy electrify your soul without a word being spoken?
What do you think Jesus teaches between the lines in the unedited version of his Course which Ken Wapnick does not want seen by your eyes or your soul?
Obviously non-thinking and non-picturing can be taught. But it's not taught by thinking and it's not taught in pictures. One has to be in the experience to teach it.
The edited version of A Course in Miracles, reflecting Helen and Ken's intellectual and cultural mind-set at the time of editing, has taught two generations of ACIM students to intellectually conclude that in theory they could reach their goal on their own without the aid of already enlightened teachers.
The Holy Spirit is now rectifying the resulting bias and setting the record straight. Jesus was, after all, a totally enlightened teacher whose energy opened his students tremendously even though he often told them there was much more yet available.
"Follow me," Jesus said. "I and the Father are one!"
Maybe in some unrecorded context he said the same thing with different words like: "Hang around me, an enlightened teacher, and you will receive what the Father has to give you."
Just as a little child is not afraid of his or her loving father, do not be afraid of a totally enlightened teacher who lives in the Heavenly Father experience and can say from experience (not from intellect), "I and the Father are one."
Jesus says in A Course in Miracles you have an intense fear, perhaps even terror, of the explosion into light. If we were to give you one gift for the month of June it would be the certainty that there is absolutely nothing to fear from your Heavenly Father's light.
If we were to give you an extension of that gift it would be the certainty that there is absolutely nothing to fear from your Heavenly Father's light radiating through the form of a totally enlightened teacher and "impregnating" you spiritually.
What if your Heavenly Father's Day is the day you finally do nothing with your mind and the explosion into light that transforms you totally forever finally happens?
In that case... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
