Synopsis

The cover says, An all-star cast highlights this hilarious comedy of ambitions and eccentricities shared by a group of insecure, under-employed, and over-imaginative friends. How low will best friends go to secure a plum writing job?  Prepare yourself for the hijinx as the backstabbing, bootlicking, brownnosing and other acts of desperation commence from the hysterical beginning to the uproarious finale!   Well, what can I say?  A little bit of an overstatement!
Brian, a Hollywood soap writer, suffers from writers block. On a cards evening, with his writer buddies, from his balcony he witnesses a strange combination of events which capture his curiosity. In trying to fit the pieces together he comes up with an idea for one of his episodes.  His buddies try to help him also by partnering together to come up with their own ideas for him.  With all these plot lines does he come up with enough episode plots to keep his show viable?

My Thoughts

The first time I saw this movie I fast-forwarded most of it. It was very tedious and there were not enough appearances by RP for my liking.  I decided to do it justice so on my second viewing I watched every minute.
It really is a whole lot of rubbish. Lots of forgettable and slow-going scenes and dialog.  I did jump out of my seat each time our man made an appearance. To be fair the ending is very good and unexpected.

RPs involvement

Robert Patrick does not appear in this movie much about 2 minutes worth if that. The first time we really see him is at the 24 minutes mark. He plays Goatee, the sleazy partner of Georgia (Illeana Douglas). He wears a brown leather jacket and black-rimmed glasses thank goodness he doesnt wear this IRL eeeeeeeeew!
I just focused on his gorgeous eyes and by-passed the glasses.
If you want to see the film just for him then fast forward to 24 and 31 minutes and 1.08 hours marks.

(Un)Memorable RP Lines

Theyre all forgettable.    The RP lines are R rated.

(Un)Memorable scenes

*  Goatee punching Brians lights out.   *  The way Brian and Georgia get their creative juices flowing.
*  The ending  no spoilers.

End thoughts

Quite a forgettable storyline and RP only plays a small and sleazy part. Not recommended viewing unless youve seen everything RP and you really must see something new,
My video will permanently be waiting at the 24-minute mark. Im wondering why I even have it in my collection. Oh well, I AM crazy RP crazy.
