Spiderman: Kissing Spider-Man (HollywoodGossips Exclusive)

Kirsten Dunst, who plays Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, confided in SCI FI Wire about her steamiest moment in the film. That steamy moment is a kiss, however there is a catch. The kiss is upside-down. "You know, that was actually really uncomfortable. Because ... we were in the rain, and it was cold, first of all, and Tobey couldn't breathe, because I had pulled his mask like to there [indicates upper lip], and he was hanging upside down soaking wet."

Maguire added that "It was a challenging scene. I was hanging upside down. It was five in the morning. Rain was going up my nose. ... And then when she lifted the mask up, the mask was then sitting on my nose, so I couldn't breathe through my nose. And then she was kissing my mouth, so I couldn't breathe through my mouth. And there's no other places to breathe from. So I would have to suck air out of the corner of our mouths." Who would have guessed a kiss could be so difficult? Even so, he added with a smile, "I still managed to derive some pleasure out of the scene."

Spiderman: Interviewed Producer Laura Ziskin ( Dark Horizons Exclusive)

Question: Was there any sequences on this you thought going into it would be impossible to pull off and yet came out beautifully?

Answer: Many. Starting from when I came into the project, the script wasn't really finished and everyone hadn't agreed upon the story, and there wasn't a budget - the studio had an idea of what they wanted it to cost, the script required it cost something higher, you know that sort of friction between the money and the creative side. We didn't have an actor playing Spider-Man and Sam had been very interested in Tobey who I loved and thought was brilliant, and we had been doing some video screen testing and the studio was very resistant to Tobey, they loved him as an actor but he wasn't what they imagined as Spider-Man. The first thing I did when I came in, my first problem I solved was I said to Sam we need to do a real full on screen test, hair, make-up, wardrobe, editing and music so they can see him as he will ultimately be seen in the movie - so we did that and he got the job.

Spiderman: Interview with Avi Arad ( Dark Horizons Exclusive)

Question: Your actually challenging one of the biggest movies, "Star Wars", at the box-office this year but the buzz is more on you guys - how does it feel to be ahead of the game?

Answer: I'll tell you I actually got a call from my friends on "Star Wars" congratulating us about the buzz and excitement for "Spider-Man". They're going to do great, they've one of the greatest franchises of all time. But "Spider-Man" is a world icon that has been in waiting for many reasons, and it just works out right as I don't know if we could've made the "Spider-Man" that we have today even five years ago. I think "Star Wars" is on its fourth sequel, we don't have to light a candle for them but its great in buzz and perception to be ahead of the curve right now. I just think internationally "Spider-Man" was always bigger than "Star Wars", "Star Wars" did quite well in more of the American derivative worlds - it did well here (Australia), did well in the UK. It did not do well in Japan, it had its problems overseas - "Spider-Man" is just such an international icon - for years we had a number one show in Australia and everywhere else for that matter, and its finally coming in a size and scope it deserves. It was really lucky for us, because of the dual facility the studio and SPI - the John Dykstra organisation. It was a corporate challenge and when everybody gets behind something, you just go for excellence and as you'll see the CG stuff in this movie has never been done before and probably wouldn't be done again, except our sequel maybe. It was a kind of undertaking that took years to get there.
