The Kills are back after a break of nearly 2 years, and they certainly haven't lost any of their famous stage presence.  On a sparse stage bathed in an eerie green light the atmosphere is palpable.  Whereas Hotel remains almost immobile, VV prowls around the stage like a caged tiger.  She simultaneously intimidates and is intimidated by the audience, an unusual and disconcerting experience.
In the time since we last saw The Kills they have written and recorded 'No Wow', the new songs, 'I Hate The Way You Love', 'Love Is A Deserter' and 'No Wow' itself sit perfectly next to classics 'Fuck The People' and 'Supersition'.  The grime and seediness we know and love remains, if anything its been intensified.  The sex and tension has increased, when the duo turn to face each other the violence feels inevitable, and is entwined with the prospect of sex.  The voyeuristic element of a Kills gig is inescapable, just watching this spectacle is can make you feel uncomfortable, almost as if its wrong and invasive, its a private moment in a public space, and it is this juxtaposition which makes every Kills gig so unforgettable.
