Drone rock this is not. Yes, the vocals could be construed as somewhat droning, but The Warlocks first British single proper is a pop-fueled feedback laden party and we're all invited. Frontman Bobby Hecksher lures you in with his lazy trance-inducing vocals but its the hypnotic wall of sound created by 4 guitarists and two drummers that keeps you there. Once you've fallen under their spell the swirling organs and 'incessant' riffing provide an insight into the crazy intoxicating world of this LA septet, and we like it. Unfortuntuely its over all too soon and your plunged back into grim reality. Until you flick it back to the start.
'Shake The Dope Out' is released in conjunction with City Rockers on August 4th. Catch The Warlocks live this summer at Glastonbury and T in the Park, you can be sure EWO will be there.
