10.30am the morning after the night before, we're awoken just hours after finally getting to bed, heads spinning and eyes barely working we realise the day of our first interview is upon us. Questions need to be written, tapes found, but first coffee.
A few spins of "Mary's Lil' Lamb" and seemingly a couple of hours later and we realise we'd better get cracking. Dictaphone is checked, it doesn't work. The panic begins. We have 2 hours to find a Dictaphone that works and to attempt to gather our thoughts and some questions worthy of the band we're about to meet, The Detroit City Council. At this point we'll just settle for any questions.
Scribbled on the pad is a note to remind us to apologise for the lack of preparation and a 'hello' from fellow Detroiters the Soledad Brothers, and with that we set off beginning to worry about what we've let ourselves in for and head off to the QMU.
On arrival we're relieved to see friendly faces, and to hear that this isn't only Eyes Wide Open's first interview, but DCC's first too. Well things can only get better huh?
