Following an entire Slade Best Of blasted through the PA (including that Christmas one), we are treated to some party rock n roll around from Leeds finest young scamps 10,000 Things. Strutting on stage the band seem unfazed by their leap from dingy clubs to this, one of the biggest venues in Glasgow, only their second show with Auzzie copy cat merchants, Jet.

With songs like Lover Boy and Eatings not Cheating, 10,000 Things introduce their seedy lives to the 2,500 expectant Jet fans. Mummys Big Plan and Back to mine are unfortunately the only songs in tonights set from the bands outstanding debut single, Foodchain (Domino).
Singer, Sam arrives in Vegas-era Elvis glasses and Elvis belt. His dancing is an amalgamation of, his apparent hero Elvis, and Mick Jagger. His confident swagger is endearing rather than arrogant and its not long before the crowd are enthralled.

However, as swiftly as they arrive, 10,000 Things depart-leaving us begging for more. Unhappily, all we have to look forward to is Jet, a prospect which hasnt gotten any more exciting since The Stands opened for them on their first tour. The fact is nobody really likes Jet- they like Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and whichever band Jet have chosen to rip off that week.

10,000 Things release their second single on Fiction on September 27th.  See
www.10000things.tv for more details, and keep your eye on EWO for details of a Glasgow show around the time of the single release.
