Jeff and I went to Tennessee in November of 2007.
Brett and Beth picked us up from the airport on Friday and we decided to drive straight to Knoxville so we would already be there in the morning for the game. On the way we stopped at Logan's Roadhouse for dinner (much like a Texas Roadhouse here in WI).
We got up pretty early on Saturday because Brandon insisted that the parking lot was going to be super crowded and they were saving a spot for us. But, there was nobody else there and we had a good laugh about it. The four of us decided to go shopping for UT apparel and the rest of the tailgate was a blast with beer pong and flippy cup!
We trekked (just kidding, it wasn't that far) to the stadium and watched the Vols whoop Lafayette.
After the game we went to eat - I forget the name of the bar but the pitcher of beer we got was not full and the bartender was a dick to Brett when he went to get it filled. We decided not to stay there and went back to the tailgate before we headed out to the bars. First we went to Cool Beans where we did a couple of shots (Jeff did not want to do his tequila shot, but he did!)
Then we went to BW3's and played Photo Shop for a little while. Beth fell asleep on the way home and when she woke up we told her we had stopped at Taco Bell for some GSB's!
On Sunday we trekked (yes, it was far this time) back to the Nashville area where Beth and Brett live. After awhile we found a Waffle House to eat at and then we went to a sports bar to watch the Packer game. We got to their house (very nice!) late in the afternoon. Unfortunately we got to watch the Patriots beat the Colts but then we went to Sonic (yes, it does exist!) for dinner and watched movies.
On Monday Brett had to go to work but Beth called in so she could sightsee with us. We went to Brett's work and he joined us for lunch at this taco place where you sort of ordered it a la carte, just circled what you wanted. (Thanks for the ketchup, Brett!) Then we went to a park where they had a replica of the parthenon but it was closed so we watched a little boy feed some ducks.
We walked around downtown Nashville and got some ice cream before we headed to Opryland.
The inside of Opryland Hotel was very pretty and we ran across a funny sign on the way in.
We still had some time to kill before our flight took off so we went to the movie theater and saw Bee Movie. Beth took us back to the airport and hung out with us while our flight was delayed. Then we had to come home in a storm, not fun! All in all, the weekend was a blast and I hope we can go back soon!
