| We went on a nature walk through the woods collecting leaves. We found many different colors and shapes. When we returned to our classroom, we sorted them by type. Caleb then created a chart to demonstrate the variety that we discovered. |

| Activities You Can Do At Home |
Go on a nature walk and collect interesting leaves, cones, and flowers. Look for pollinators! |
Lay a sheet of plain paper on top of a leaf. Using the flat side of a crayon, rub over the leaf and the leaf details will appear on paper. Look for the veins! |
Put a pair of socks on over your shoes and walk through the yard. Remove the socks and look for hitchhikers. Discuss how seeds travel. |
Make musical instruments. Place dry beans between stapled pie plates or in tin cans with lids. Play! |
| Place a wet paper towel in a clear plastic cup. Insert a bean between the side of the cup and the wet paper towel. Place in a window and keep towel moist. Watch the seed sprout! |
