I have always enjoyed school, and as a child I loved to teach all of my stuffed animals. When I was in first grade, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I wanted to be a fun, energetic teacher that students would remember with fondness.
After graduating from high school, I immediately began college, seeking my degree in Early Childhood Education. My college professors helped me understand the best ways to reach children and help them strive to achieve their best. I also learned a great deal from the teachers that I interned with, including some creative instructional methods that I still use in the classroom today.
I recently completed my Master's of Science Degree with a specialization in Integrating Technology in the Classroom. I would like to see my students propelled into the future through the exciting and motivating lessons that they learn in my classroom.
I have taught in both public and private school for five years, and have home schooled my two children for three years. I have taught first, third, fourth, and fifth grades in a regular classroom, and Kindergarten through third grade in our home school environment. Each situation has its own benefits and struggles, but I have enjoyed each year and considered myself privileged to teach in each position.
I am married to a wonderfully devoted and supportive husband, Keith, and we have two precious and sometimes rambunctious boys who love God, family, and music, just as their parents do. I am involved in the choir and praise team at church, and enjoy cross-stitching, crocheting, and gardening in my spare time. |
