Holly Svengali's Academic Machinations
A blog record of my PhD studies (comprehensive exam preparations and dissertation research), post coursework.
Entry for May 24, 2006

Had a very successful meeting with my committee, today. My progress was deemed satisfactory by all three, and my report has been signed and approved. We discussed my general goals, and the committee was very encouraging. Faydra and I will go over the statement of research interests first, and I hope to have to all three soon, in preparation for the full rough draft of my proposal for August. I will also start working on my OGS and SSHRC applications as soon as I can. I have sent out my OGS/SSHRC statements from 2005 to the committee for feedback, etc., and have now opened up the field comp reading list to all three advisors.

A small trip to the library, like the shot heard around the world, has signaled the beginning of my dissertation reading list, with Benedict Anderson's Imagined Community.

I am slightly behind schedule on comp reading due to the meetings and other obligations, and have much (MUCH) more Albanese book to read before Saturday, so this will be my top priority for the rest of the week.
