Holly Svengali's Academic Machinations
A blog record of my PhD studies (comprehensive exam preparations and dissertation research), post coursework.
Entry for July 11, 2006

Heard back from the ACS conference in Vancouver. I have been rejected for the main annual conference, but I have been accepted for the Student Forum conference taking place at the same time. They nicest things are that they will not only pay my way, but also do the bookings, so it is all fairly straight forward. This is especially great as this is my first conference out of town, and the least problems that can occur, the better. Therefore, I have a paper to prepare for October 19. A program will be sent to me soon. I hope that this may improve my SSHRC application.

Tonight marks the end of my self-allowed mini-break, and a return to comp reading with renewed vigour. Comp books have almost all arrived via the mails from ABE books, a  most reliable company.
