Trapped
Have you ever felt caught between two worlds?
One accepted by all
Never blocked or intercepted by no imaginary wall
The other silently rejected
Yet never even mentioned
Do you think I am blind to injustice?
Limitations to ones success
Rules unenforced
Laws never quite fair
Public outcries for justice and equality
Just receive a few lines while commercialism dominates
Wait this is an exception though
Society tries to trap us
Convincing us we're making progress
When they really treat us like birds
Throwing little pieces of substance
Hoping it will keep us satisfied
Unable to be our true selves
Stuck between their misconceptions and images of who we are
Never able to express how I feel publicly
What holds me back?
Fear?
Rejection?
It's a dark secret I must hide
There's no where to turn, surrounded by all
Now everyone's listening
Hanging on to my every word
Watching me quiver in anxiousness and fear
Clearly they can see the desperation in my eyes
Hoping I crumble, break down, and cry
Smiling as they hope to defeat me
Their hearts surrounded by fencing, filled with hate
Why can't they accept me and my mate
Stand Tall
Stand Proud
You are who you are
Behind these glass barriers
Stands a man
A man just like you
Scared yet optimistic
Ready to break through
Trapped?
Possibly
However, standing tall and proud knocking down the walls injustice
