Well we finally had Heather's first birthday party yesterday.  Only 3 weeks late!  It was nice having some separation between the holidays and christmas.  I think we might do her bday parties a little late every year until she starts to notice.   We had all of Heather's little baby friends over from the mothers group I took part in shortly after Heather was born.  We try to get together once a week for playdates and chat.   It was fun to see all the babies who are about the same age (plus or minus a couple months) together.   Hannah had a few friends her age at the party too, and they kept each other company.  They all especially liked opening Heathers bday gifts.  Heather couldn't care less, and it was a little embarassing.  But so far she has enjoyed playing with everything she got.  It was nice that Hannah didn't feel left out.  Heather got a few toys that Hannah loves to play with too and Heather doesn't seem to mind sharing. ;)   We had a ladybug/valentines day theme, and this morning I took Heather to get her bday pictures taken at JCPenny.   I hate having to wait for those, but it'll take about 3 weeks before I have them to send off.   They turned out really cute.  As soon as I get them online I will let you all know.   Dave and I are trying to figure out my new digital video camera and how to get the movies on the computer.  It has been kinda tricky and since we don't have a firewire connection to the camera or the computer. Dave is going to get a video card for it instead.  I don't know how much space I'll have here for movies (I am already out of space so am starting to delete pages) but I am going to see what I can do to get them online to share.  *hopefully!*

Now that Heather is
one and has been for a few weeks, I'd better give an update on her development!  She is doing soooo much!  She still crawls everywhere at warp speed, including up the stairs.  She'll stand alone for about 30 seconds max.  I will sometimes ask her to walk to me but she puts her hands down and crawl over instead.   She is starting to talk more and more.  She still says "that", "there", thank-you which sounds like "daydoo", "babu" for both doggies", "ball","boo",  woof on occasion sounds like "uf uf", howls like a dog, "ho ho ho" like santa claus", "uh-oh" and looks for her binky on the floor, occasionally "mama" and "dada", and just started saying balloon "baaavooooo" yesterday because we had a bunch of balloons for her party.

Hannah is also doing a ton at
two & a half. Her speech is still incredible.  She picks up stuff everywhere and will repeat it for days.  We have a book that has a line saying "never ever" and now when she doesn't want to do something she says "no, and never ever!"  She also picks up on little things we do and copies them.  Some are hilarious.  The other night she picked up a little piece of paper and held it close to her eyes then said that she couldn't read it & needed her glasses.  Something Grandma and Grandpa in Utah said all the time while they were visiting! LOL! Other times we just look at each other and wonder where she picked it up.  Usually it is just something we do but don't realize it until we do it ourselves.  She loves to have books read to her too.  Frog and Toad is a favorite bedtime book although I never expected she would like that one until much later.  Also she is REALLY into Bob the Builder, so her two Bob books are must reads several times a day.  She loves to watch the videos too.  She also loves all her new books she got for christmas and will pick one for us to read for a week or so and then move on to another, and then back again.  We finally started "Hannah's music class" and she is enjoying every minute.  She is sooo excited for it to be her turn.  The nice part is Heather is loving it just as much!  I am kind of late researching preschools for Hannah next year.  Registration has begun for most of them around here.  It seems so early for it. I think Hannah will have fun in preschool though, so I hope to find a good one within a week or two.

I made the cupcakes & the chocolate ladybugs and heart decorations.  I thought it turned out quite cute.  Heather ate the white grocery store cake because I think she likes the frosting better.
Mmmmmm.....CAKE!
Ok, so it was more fun to play with it than eat it!
Hannah was dying for a cupcake.  She had it all picked out.  She asked me a million times if we could eat the cake now.  Finally she asked her friend Simran, who just replied "no, not until everyone is finished" in her most grown up voice.  Hannah says "ok."  Go figure! LOL!
Oh the balloons were so much fun!
Would you say these two are sisters??  Naaaa!
Time for cleanup!  Look who gets to do all the work. hee hee
Enjoying the balloon given to her by Collin!
Hannah's best friend Simran!
Last but not least, all of Heather's friends:
Aiden, Trace, Heather, Thales, Sophia, and Lila Mae
