Miss Heather is 7 months!! I completely forgot to update my website when she turned 6 months, so happy belated half-birthday Heather Feather! She is doing so many new things I don't know where to start! She loves to grab her feet, blow raspberries (something she learned to do earlier but forgot and re-discovered), Says mostly ahhhhs and ohhhhs and many high pitched screams. Today is the first day she started adding consonant sounds, She said "da" and "ga". She is a major roller and will inevitably roll across the room to taste the shoes that someone left behind. :-P She loves tummy time still and also today she just started pushing up on her arms. Dave also discovered that if he puts her in the crawling position she will stay there for a few seconds until finally collapsing. Sitting isn't really her thing yet. I think because she is just to interested in what is around her and wanting to reach and grab. It's just too stationary for her I guess. She has also discoverd Igor and Babushka and is really enjoying "petting" them. Usually it consists of her pulling away with a whole bunch of hair in her hand. Babushka seems to like the attention though. Heather is eating more solids now too. Up to twice a day with cereal mixed with fruit or veggie. And she usually gets a biter bisquit once a day. I tried a cheerio with her the other day and got a funny response. She couldn't put it in her mouth and after swallowing it whole, I got a pretty dirty look. I think we will wait a bit for those.
Miss Hannah is 26 months. Wow, what can I say about Hannah? She is doing EVERYTHING! Talking is through the roof! Long, complicated sentances, using words and meanings in other ways that we haven't used much, etc etc etc. She is a major talker and talks my head off most days too. She is in her terrible two's but mostly we are getting through fine. We do have some major temper tantrums and bad days but most are very good. Hannah is in the mist of "potty exploring" and will go pee on it when she sits on it. #2 isn't really happening on the potty yet. This has been a lot more stressful than I ever imagined it would be. Probably because I have two to watch now and Hannah usually seems interested in going right when I am making dinner. I am so proud of her though!! She loves to swing and do water play this summer. She isn't much of a sandbox girl, but will occasionally get into it. She is really enjoying watching the garden grow this summer. She stares at the tomato's (matatoes as she calls them -- too cute!!!) for minutes on end waiting for them to get ripe and begging to pick them. She also loves to dance with her daddy and Heather every morning while waiting for mommy to shower. She named her baby doll Heather and wants to feed her baby when I feed Heather (even tries to nurse but mostly likes to feed her with the baby spoon) and then puts her down for a nap and proceed to tell me to be quiet because Heather is sleeping. She loves her baby sister and is always saying Hi to her, trying to scooch her, hold her, feed her etc. Heather loves it so its fun to watch. |
