Here I am in the gallery standing behind my newest series the Fantastic Creatures.
|
 |
This
is the central "tent" that Robyn and Susan (the gallery owners) set up
to recreate the sideshow tent look for my many freaks.
|

|
I'm standing in front of my beaded self portrait and The Four Evangelists, which sold during the show. |
 |
The
little TV in the center of this image showed the 1932 movie, Freaks,
throughout the exhibit. The little wagon to the left of the TV was
filled with circus peanuts. :) Robyn and Susan even made sure there
were several books in the room about the real lives of the freaks I
depicted in my sideshow. |

Our
friends Mike and Mary Marcotte surprised us and came to the closing.
They were nice enough to come all the way from Lubbock, Texas!
Actually, they were up at the EAA show in Oshkosh and came down. It was
wonderful to see them. After my talk, we had telescopes set up outside
for viewing the sky, giving Mike and Mary the chance to share their
astronomy knowledge along with Michael. |
 |
I'm
pointing out Johnny Eck and Prince Randian on the PowerPoint slide that
illustrated my talk. I told more about the real lives of the people
depicted in my sideshow. That's Michael sitting behind me. He was my
official slide-advancer--and my big-time art supporter. Thank you,
Michael! |

This is another piece that sold, Icarus. This picture shows one of an artist's favorite sights--the red "sold" dot on the label! |
 |
My
show was on the upper floor of the Flying Pig Gallery. This is a view
of the lower floor of the gallery. Beyond the windows is the greenspace
garden of the Pig. It is gorgeous beyond belief. You should definitely
check out this great place if you get the chance. |
