August meeting, 2004:

Minutes of July meeting were approved.

Information was presented to the Board on Brookside Estates II. The developer would like to
go ahead with phase II, which won preliminary approval from the Town Board back in 1998.              Chairman Jerry Wall advised on what would be needed on the roads within the subdivision.
The developer wanted to dedicate the pond to the town, and the town refused the offer.                     Holland Heights was handled the same way.  After the subdivision  is complete, the town will         take over the maintenance of the roads.
The plans are awaiting approval from the Brown                 County board, so the Board decided they will hold off until next month to consider final                     approval.

       Bills were approved and paid.

Jerry discussed a new bid for gravel from Michaels.

The town will be paid approximately $53900 from WE Energies for installation of approximately         4 miles of  a high voltage transmission line  through the township. They will attend the next             meeting to discuss it with the board in greater detail.   The  installation will start in November.

The Board voted and approved a permanent change in the voting hours, starting in                             September. The polls will open at 7 a.m.  and will close at 8 p.m.  The rate paid to the election         workers will be adjusted accordingly.  The change was made to accomodate  those who                 commute to work every day, so that they can vote on their way to work.

The Board was advised by Mike Parmentier of the Brown County Planning Commission that             the town is required to hold a joint Citizens Advisory Board Meeting with the adjoining towns.         It was decided that the meeting would be held on Monday, August 23, 2004, at St. Pat's                     Church, to discuss the "collaboration of services"  issue.

Bill Clancy advised that there was a proposal in front of the Brown County Board to assess             the communties for their "share" of the maintenance costs of the thru highways  that share             commercial traffic.  The board discussed this issue, and it was decided that Town Clerk                     Clancy will object to the proposal.

We also discussed insurance issues regarding the Askeaton Softball Club, LLC's use of the             Hollandtown ball diamond and the selling of beer at the games.  The board is looking into                 what the town's insurance covers and possibly requiring the club to procure insurance to             cover the games.
