Fall and Winter in Holland
We have now had three autumns and winters in the Netherlands and life falls into the seasonal patterns.  At the girls school, the fall always brings a Welcome Potluck Supper where the parents have a chance to meet other expat parents.  This has always been one of Peter's favorite school social activities.  We see parents that sometimes we don't see again for almost a year.

The school also provides some social activities for the students as well -- the annual Halloween Dance and then the Christmas Dance.  These school dances seem to be more interesting for the lower grades (grade 6, 7 and 8).  The upper grades attend in dwindling numbers as the students get older and find going into Eindhoven to a bar/club more interesting.

This season, the school put on the musical/pantomime "Aladin".  Anna played on of the Genies of the Lamp in the play and had a great time performing -- the long play rehersals are not nearly as fun.

My sister and parents came out for Christmas this year, spending a week with us in Nuenen.  Though a little cramped for space, we had a good visit and nice Christmas.  I took my family to see the Christmas Market in Aachen and, of course, Eindhoven.  Unlike New England, it was cold, but dry here.  No white Christmas this year.

As each season goes, I try to enjoy it as my last one of its kind in Holland.  Walking Toby gives me a chance to enjoy the changes.  I think I will miss walking here the most.
