The Reverend Drew M. Willard was ordained as a minister of the United Church of Christ in 1996. He is a graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania with a Masters of Divinity. His undergraduate degree is from The United States Military Academy, West Point. While on active duty as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, he recommitted his life to Christ and sought to become a chaplain. At seminary, he rediscovered his passion for art & spirituality recalling events of a born-again experience at a high school summer camp called the Bethany Beach Folk Arts Festival in Delaware.
Art as faith expression has continued to inform and shape Rev Willards call to ministry through his work as a youth minister, private high school religion intern, public school substitute teacher, recreation therapist for a psychiatric hospital, and and now as an ordained minister. Rev Drew has been the Pastor for Holiday United Church of Christ in Holiday, Florida since the Year 2000. He preaches that Jesus, the Son of God, is present with us now as the Holy Spirit in our hearts and as the Christ we encounter through the least of these. As we accept our forgiveness, we are empowered to forgive and love our salvation, then, depends upon how the Holy Spirit of love has been allowed to act in our lives. The greater good that is accomplished is beloved community as it is revealed in the fellowship of congregational life and the partnership of ecumenical interfaith communities. |
