About Us

Holiday United Church of Christ was gathered as a congregation in 1967 and by 1978 had built and paid for its present, permanent sanctuary, a modern style structure that was made handicapped accessible, anticipating the 21st Century.

Our faith community was established by seniors who were living in local retirement developments. Holiday UCC is now a church that is adapting to the challenges of the times, reaching out to a changing community.

Our music program is particularly important to us with a very dedicated choir under the leadership of Bob Logan, who is also the organist. The senior choir sings every Sunday - even through the summer! In the winter, we look forward to our Christmas Cantata, which is also performed for the community. We also have a spring concert featuring local choirs.

Our congregation participates in the Called to Care, or Shepherds Program. Members, and even regularly attending non-members, are assigned a 'shepherd'. Shepherds are asked to periodically call to see how their flock is doing and keep them informed of special events or to pass along their concerns to the pastor.

We are also very active with the ecumenical community, participating in the community CROP Walk, Thanksgiving service and "Stone Soup" gatherings.

Food provides an important ingredient for building fellowship at Holiday UCC. In a manner of speaking, we are "world famous in the Holiday-area" for our pancake breakfasts and other special fundraising dinners!

Rev Drew Willard has introduced Biblical storytelling as part of our worship, encouraging the use of other liturgical arts as well, helping us to explore how 'God is still speaking' in our time. Come worship with us!
