Originally,
Americans celebrated President Lincoln's birthday on February 12th and
President Washington's birthday on February 22nd. In 1971, President Nixon
combined the two
holidays into one and called it Presidents’ Day. Now it is
celebrated on the third Monday in
February and honors all of the country's presidents.
