Dear user,

many thanks for downloading MPG2LHKM - pronounce: "miles per
gallon to litres per one hundred kilometres"

As complicated as the name implies is the calculation this
little tool is intended for.

Unfortunately, British and German drivers measure the
the fuel consumption of their cars in completely different
ways. While the British pour a little measure of petrol
(i.e. a gallon) into their tank and carry on driving until they
run dry, the Germans make sure their tank is full, then
drive 100 km and check afterwards how much fuel is missing.
(You may judge for yourself which approach is more sensible...)

A conversion between these two methods is much more complcated
than a quick estimate between inches and cm or miles and km.

That's why I wrote this little tool and hope it will help wipe
out lots of frowns and empty looks from your friends faces the
next time you engage in a tech talk with them.

Have fun,
