MAO

Musique Assistée par Ordinateur
Music assisted by computer

Begin 22 February 2005
Last date was 5 April 2005

Here I made my first piece of music…

Homage to Laibach's Macbeth  1:02
Lo-Fi Real Audio

Finally it was set that each of us would make a music track to meet certain conditions.

  1. it shall contain a frequency sample
  2. it shall contain an accoustic sample – which we did record in a little session
there were five: Xylo, Truc vocal, Guitare abimée, Winnie L'ourson, Xylo2
  3. it shall contain a break
  4. it shall contain a change of tempo
  5. it shall rock

Here is for now my contribution - an awful piece with quite the proper name…
Though my girl-friend thinks that one might like it, if one's into that kind of music, so check for yourself.

Variation moderne sans variation  DEMO VERSION  4:14
Lo-Fi Real Audio

Actually it does not meet all conditions, but hey, it's an example of techno in 30 seconds, though it took me a little longer than that. But most of that time went into getting to know the program…

Public Presentation 26 April 2005
Bar of the Atheneum

Only six finally contributed to our little presentation. And unfortunately only three of were actually present – Ophélie Hébert, Sébastien Maurel and me…
The track list is as follows:

  • Crystal Ambiance
  • Gèrbe colorée
  • Masoch
  • Variation moderne sans variation  Demo Version
      by Alba Ra™ <that would be me>
  • Offojazzo
      by Ophélie Hébert
  • Diaspora
Unfortunately the tracklist does give only the tracks, not the artists, so if you can identify yourself, just give me a message.
  • Eye
  • Dreams & Silence
  • Volutes
  • Experimental Anti-Zen
all four by glue Trax aka Denis Aubert

Pictures of this little event can be found here.
