Journal 1: July 2003
Here's my first journal entry. Writing in this little text box is bringing back scary memories from my journalism days! In the past I've tried to keep a journal/diary but always got tired of it after a few entires, so we'll see how long I keep this one up. Since you already know a little about me I guess I'll write this first entry about my life at the moment.

It's the summer before my fourth year at
Tech and technically I should be a senior but due to events of the past year or so I'm still a junior. As a result, I'm taking 13 credits this summer in an attempt to graduate on time. It should be feasible if I take 18 credits in boththe spring and fall semesters but I'm not sure I really want to do that because aren't you supposed to enjoy your last year in college, not be all stressed out about it? So, in addition to deciding whether I want to graduate in May or December of 2004, I have to figure out what I'm going to do after I graduate. I suppose Grad school is still an option (I've ruled out law school) but I think if it was something I was really considering I would be doing more prep work for it (GRE's, research, etc) and I've done none of that. Also, do I want to try for a job right out of school (a scary thought) or do I want to take a year off and travel? Or will something completely unexpected happen that will decide where I live and what I'm going to do? But enough about that....

I feel like spending some money, but what should I buy? I know I'm going to need to get a new
digital camera because my old one doesn't work with XP, but which one should I get? And I really want a Pocket PC but there are so many choices so which one should I buy? I wish someone would say "Surprise!! Here's your new digital camera and PDA. We made the decision for you so now you don't have to!!" but that would be pretty passive, right? Not to mention wishful thinking. And I have no clue as to what kind of car to get once I graduate (I'm thinking a BMW 325 or VW Passat, but who knows) and then I'll have to buy car insurance and pay for all the fees and get vanity plates.....I can see the bills piliing up already. I also want to buy myself one really nice thing. Should I get a ring or a watch or a bracelet or a handbag? And DVD's! I'm all about the boxed set right now but which one should I get first? The first four seasons of Sex and the City? The James Bond 007 Collection?

I have the entire month of July and the beginning of August to get into tip top shape for our trip to
Montego Bay, Jamaica. Will I stick to my diet and exercise routine? Will I keep up the plan long enough to be in even better shapr for the Las Vegas trip in December? It's doubful, but you never can tell.

Until next time....
