| The Hogwarts and Grounds RPG is run on message boards at www.greatestjournal.com. Please get an account there especially for this RPG, as it's free and rather easy to start. This RPG is designed to work exactly like Hogwarts does in the books, only online. There is a community for each class, where "lessons" will be posted by the professors. Then, the class has a discussion on the message board about the lesson. The better you do in the discussion, the more house points you get, and the higher on the class list you get. The highest people from each house become prefects in either 5th or 6th year, and the best boy and girl in 7th year become the head boy and girl. (sidenote: if you are a girl, you can RP a male character, and vice versa.) After you finish 7th year, you can find a job either as a professor (there's always an opening in Defense against the Dark Arts, for some reason...) or working in diagon alley or Hogsmeade, if you wish. Each "Year" goes from the first of the month to the end, and includes one class posted every day, with a different elective course each year. After this, go to the Submission page to submit your character's name, and take a subconscious sorting quiz. Character Rules: ~No character may be related to any major cannon character. (no children of Harry or Hermione, or long lost good Malfoy cousins.) (however, you can be Ernie MacMillan's son if you wish) ~You may not declare any special powers or any skills that would be higher to your level of education. First years will not know animagus transformations, and seers and metamorphmaguses are extremely rare. If you have special talent, be sure that it will be recognised and nurtured by the professors. ~We expect a certain level of maturity of our students. This means that you should spell to the best of your abilities, and if you are a horrible speller, use the spell check feature on the post message form. Correct grammatical structures and proper use of punctuation are required, just like in real school. ~All roleplayers MUST be over the age of 13, although all characters will be 11 at the start of the game. Each character should find a picture to represent you on the message boards. This should be of a person, or part of a person (ie. eyes, smiles, hands) that is appropriate to your age level. Your picture should be beleiveable as an 11year old. You may not use a well known actor as your picture. Make it 100x100 pixels. Then upload it to Greatestjournal in your account, and to a website if possible. Then send us the link after your character has been approved, so we can put it in the communities. The picture will have a small icon added to the corner for some forums, to signify your house. After you send your Journal name in, you'll get a slew of confirmation e-mails from greatestjournal to sign you up for your classes. Sorry, if I could turn them off I would. Prefects will also get an icon, this shows that they are like forum moderators. so respect that. Professors are, needless to say, admins as well. There will be NO OOC posts on the boards. once you click on the Express, you will not drop character in the game (any OOCness should be done in private correspondence either to other players or an admin) This is also a PG group. no sexy stuff, kiddies. Oh, and did i mention Quidditch? an RP game in an RP game! played in chat format (format TBA) with statistics kept and a draft to professional Quidditch when you graduate. The term will begin for you on the first of the month after we recieve and approve your submission, unless there is a shortage of participants. In either case, look for us to contact you! When we contact you, we will tell you your Gringotts Bank Number... Remember this, as it is how you will purchase your supplies! Bookmark this page to look for updates, and then bookmark the hogwarts "map" or mainpage when you get there. NEW - After you are sorted, put a yellow H on your icon if you are in Hufflepuff, a red G for Gryffindor, a green S for Slytherin, and a blue R for Ravenclaw. You don't need to use these distinctions in your common rooms, but you do need to use them everywhere else. Any Questions? Email! |
