Welcome all older students and new first years! *With a flick of her wand, an old-fashioned, ancient-looking hat appears out of thin air up top a three-legged stool. All at once, the hat began to sing.*

Oh welcome first years, don't be frightened,
I have welcomed students and long since been enlightened.
Come forth and put me on your nervous little head,
That's what generations back I always said.
There are four houses in this school so great,
Bringing in witches and wizards at such a rate.
Gryffindors are brave and bold,
True nerve and loyalty their hearts behold.
In slytherin they have great goals and stuff,
They never seem to have quite enough.
Whereas Hufflepuffs are just friendly and nice,
They'll forgive you even after faults of trice.
Ravenclaw students are high above wisdom and all that,
Their intelligence cannot be measured in a stat.
So there you have summaries of the four,
Now brace yourself for what you have in store.
Put me on and don't forget,
My choice is wise and one you cannot regret.
Now to get sorted just answer these several simple questions and you're all set!
