The question that I most entertain is: What is Numerology? Within these pages, I hope to demystify the practice of Numerology and bring it about, whole circle, into a world that will be able to use it for their own means. There are too many witches and wizards that mock the practice of Numerology. It has lost some of its glory throughout the decades, though through no fault of its own. Misuse and juvenile behavior has caused the wizardly world�s eyes to fall upon it with ambivalence.
In its most basic meaning, Numerology is the study of numbers. Everything in life revolves around one simple concept: numbers. It is the one thing that can connect every specie. Numerology is not just fancy and playful. Nay, it is an extremely accurate science, when used correctly.
Now here is the basic setup of Numerology. Each letter in the name your given at birth and your birth date are assigned a number which will be discussed later. You basically add up the numbers till you come to a single digit (except for a few numbers which shouldn't be reduced like 11 and 22 during the reducing). That single digit has an interpretation that applies to that digit only, both positive and negative. By studying these digits you can come to a conclusion about a person's personality and characteristics. I know this sounds complicated but it isn't. You'll see, oh you WILL see...
As briefly mentioned, the Numerology Science is based on numbers and letters. The numbers range from 1 - 9, 11, and 22. The following is a basic interpretation of the general meaning of each level.

The Personal Year is helpful in evaluating the trend of the coming calendar year. For a clue as to what lies ahead in the coming year, calculate your personal year using this formula:
First, reduce the month and day of your birth, your birthday, to a single digit.
Using my birthday for example, February 8th, that single digit would be 1 (2+8=10; 1+0=1). If your month and day total comes to 11 or 22, the master numbers, in this instance, reduce the number to 2 and 4, respectively.
Next, reduce the year for which you are making the calculation to a single digit. The year 2003 would become 5.
Now, add the single digit representing your birthday to the single digit representing the year in question. Thus, 2003 is a 6 personal year for me.

Personal Year 1. . . .A New Beginning In Your Life
The current year is the beginning of a new nine year cycle for you. It holds the promise of being an exciting new adventure, with life taking on new challenges that pave the way for the next cycle of nine years in your life. This is a time to clarify your goals and it is a time to act on them. Hard work may be necessary to get a new venture moving. Your physical strength will be up during this year, perhaps higher than it has been for some time, as you have some special needs for this extra energy. If you are unable or unwilling to answer the call to change and make the move in your life the appears necessary now, your prospects may be delayed until the next cycle begins in nine years. Because of this, you feel like an adventure, a major change in your life, something new. New goals should be clearly set and worked toward, as this is really a new beginning of a nine year cycle and it is best not to dwell on the past at this time. This will be fairly easy for you to do because most of the problems and disappointments of the past will tend to disappear, leaving the way open for these new challenges. This is a great time; use it to its full advantage.
Personal Year 2. . . .Development, cooperation, and waiting
This is a number 2 personal year. A personal year 2 is a wait and see time; a year when you will find yourself in the background and very much in a stage of development. This is not a time to force the issue and try to move forward. It is a time for cooperation and building relationships that will benefit you in the future; a year for accumulating and collecting. Aggressiveness will cause problems now. You must be prepared for delays, detours, stoppages and you must be patient. This is a time of small contribution, of helping, and details must be taken care of when they come up. You may give time and effort to further another's work. This year may be a test to your self-control and emotional sensitivities. This is a time to improve your abilities to work with others in a productive way and this can be difficult for you if you have chiefly worked alone in the past. Keep calm, cool, and pleasant. You may experience a degree of nervous tension during this period; the two year brings a tendency to emotional extremes including depression. This is a number 3 personal year. This is a social, happy year, and it generally tends to exude bright and cheerful vibrations. You are inclined to live life to its fullest now, even if you have to pay the consequences later on. The Life Path has been discussed in very elementary details previously, and the life path period is an addition to this reading that should be taken into account. If we live long enough, we will experience three life path periods. As you progress into this page, think of the readings in terms of a modification or enhancement personalizing the life path reading. These readings do not replace the life path reading, but merely fine tune and customize it to the individual. Because life path periods can vary so widely, the life path we are on becomes complex and motley.
The life periods are based on the birth date. The number representing the month of birth, reduced to a single digit or master number, is the first life path period indicator. The second life path period is determined by the day of birth reduced to a single digit or master number. The final period is based on the year of birth reduced to a single digit or master number.
The timing of the first period begins at birth and continues until at least when in astrological progression the Moon has returned to its original place in the birth chart. This is about 28 years.
To estimate the completion of the first period, determine the year that the subject turns 28. Next, calculate the Personal Yearfor the subject that year. If it is a 1 personal year, this year should be considered the beginning of the second life path period. If it is a 2 personal year for the subject, the previous year should be considered the beginning of the second life path period. If it is a 3-9 personal year, the beginning of the second life path period will not occur until the beginning of the next nine year cycle, i.e. the next 1 personal year.
This same process should be used to determine the beginning of the third life path period. For this, it is the 1 personal year a year before, on, or after, the 56th birthday.

Also known as the Destiny Number, the Expression number is derived from all the letters in your Full Birth Name. This number describes the talents and attitudes that will be at your disposal throughout life. Of course, you must choose to draw from them, as many you will not even acknowledge you have.
To arrive at your Expression number, take each name separately and add up the letter values using the conversion chart below. Reduce each name to a single digit or master number. To get a grasp of these, you should think of mental letters a leading to qualities that rely heavily on the mind, on reasoning, and using facts to make decisions; physical plane letters suggests the systemic behavior of the disciplined, the practical, the builder, using energies on the here and now; emotional plane letters develop qualities of imagination, originality and inspiration, guided by emotions and sentiment; finally, intuitive plane letter promote inspiration, idea development, spiritual inclination, and what you might call that sixth sense. I hope I haven't made any of these sound more or less important than the others. They aren't.
To complicate things just a bit more, these four groups are subdivided once again to further define expression. These divisions within the planes of expression show the letters denoting a tendency towards being creative/inspired or being dual/adaptive or being well grounded/balanced.

Now that you have determined how the letters of your name fit into the Planes of Expression worksheet, it's time to determine how your name, that is the letters in your name, shape the way you express yourself and relate to the world around you. First, take a look at the modes of behavior to see what it means to belong to the creative, the adaptable, or the grounded. Or are you a combination of two of these. Maybe you're just well balanced in all four.

If you have completed the worksheet you are ready to analysis the results. The average distribution of letters on the worksheet will produce about 30% of the tally in the mental plane; 22% in the Physical plane; 33% in the Emotional plane; and, 15% in the intuitive plane. Life is not a simple walk in the park. There are hurdles to jump, and challenges to overcome. We learn by meeting the challenge, and dealing with it effectively. The nature of the challenge is shown in the Life Path.
There are three challenges included in your life path. Two that will be called sub-challenges and then a main challenge. Each challenge is represented by a number, and the number reflects the tone of the confrontation. We will again use the month, the day and the year of birth in this calculation. The first step will be to reduce each of these components to a single digit base number.
Example:
The first sub challenge is derived by finding the difference between the month and day of birth. In our example, this would be 5-3=2 first sub challenge.

The third pinnacle is identified by adding the first and second pinnacle. Our example would have an 8+11=19 or 1 third pinnacle.

Positive: The Life Path 1 drive in this life is characterized by individualist desires, independence, and the need for personal attainment. The purpose to be fulfilled on this Life Path is that of becoming independent. This is a two part learning process; first, you must learn to stand on your own two feet and learn not to depend on others. After you are indeed free and independent, you must learn to be a leader. Many of our Generals, corporate leaders, and political leaders are men and women having the Life Path number 1. The 1 always has the potential for greatness as a leader, but they may fail as a follower. Many 1's spend most of their lives shaking off their dependent side. When this happens, there is little time left for enjoying the rewards to be gained through independence. The individual with Life Path 1 has to overcome an environment in which it is very easy to be dependent, and difficult to be independent.

While this can be a happy year as far as personal expression and activities are concerned, it may be a disastrous year on the business scene. A generally frivolous attitude in that environment can cause rash decisions and impractical, unfinished schemes. Thus, I would be 28 in 1967 (1939+28-1967) which would be a 6 personal year for me. The next, 1968 would be 7 personal year; 1969 an 8 personal year, and 1970 a 9 personal year. The year 1971 would be my next 1 personal year making this the year that my life path period changed to 8. In 1995, a 7 personal year for me, I turned 56. My next number 1 personal year came in 1998. This then was the beginning of my third life path period.
Early years:
In this period you will show a stronger tendency toward independence. Originality and creativity come early and continue through this period. You have the ability to lead early on, but at a time when the emphasis is on learning to follow, this can be a problem. You do have a good deal of early self-confidence and individuality which can help you achieve early successes. You are aggressive in your early career path.
