| The Staff of Hogar Emanuel The staff consists of: � Head Director or Principal; Miriam Reyes de Hauck. She is an active member of our Nazarene Church. She has just taken over the Home this last month. � Administrator; Bessy, she is the accountant. You can see her responsibilities on the job description sent Friday. � 3 Tutors; one that is coordinator & tutor, and 2 tutors. � 1 head cook � 1 assistant cook � 2 laundry ladies � 2 cleaning ladies � 1 driver, green-area& land keeper Besides the Staff, which receive a salary, there are several people who contribute their time and love with the children as volunteers; Nicole; a German girl currently living in Honduras in an exchange program she is teaching the kids Piano, she's organizing the library, going over homework with the smaller children , etc. Mirza (Dana's wife) comes in several times during the school days, and gives Bible and English classes. Santos Varela (from our Church too) picks them up on Sundays, on 2 trips, and brings them to Church. Martin Hauck; has brought the Nazarene explorers' training camp to the Home. The Explorers are kids (boys and girls) ages 7 - 14, they meet every Saturdays, from 4:00pm to 6:00, and learn about wild life, first aids, discipline, make exercise (like boy Scouts), but most important, learn that they are special creations of God, that they should be of clean mind, spirit and body, they must obey God, serve others, and that they should become His warriors. On weekends, special occasions (birthdays) and others, we all go to the Home; Dana, Mirza and their kids, Miriam, Martin (her husband and the leader of Nazarene Explorers) and their 2 kids, me and my 2 kids. The Staff of the Home reports to a Board of Directors, which is elected every year through a General Assembly. The current Board is as follows: Rosario de Nu�ez - President Chet Thomas - Vice-President Aminta Navarrete - Treasurer Lisset Thomas - Fiscal Dana Benscoter - Vocal I Bill and Ronna Heminger - I.C.A. Representatives Frances Azzad - Secretary Mary Ann Kafatti - Honorary Member The Board members are all volunteers, and are involved in some degree with the Home and the Children; getting donations, coordinating health care, sponsoring kids, etc. As to qualifications, Chet (and his wife Lisset) are the founders of Project Global Village & works also with Amigos de Honduras, Aminta is a business executive, works in a Panamanian bank. Dana is our Pastor and teacher. He acts as advisor to the Board and to the Director, and is the direct link between I.C.A. and the Home regarding building projects, mayor repairs or investments. |
