2004-2005 WRESTLING OUTLOOK

Coming off the best season in the history of the program, the Hogan Spartan wrestling team will strive to retain that success and establish itself as a perennial power in the Solano County Athletic Conference (SCAC).  The Mighty Spartans posted a 4-1 dual record to finish the regular season as the #2 ranked team in the SCAC.  Hogan legitimized that status with a 2nd place finish at the SCAC Championships, a SJS Section team dual playoff berth, and sent four wrestlers to the Sac Joaquin Section Championships.
Hogan must recover from the loss of its captains from a year ago; all of whom were All-SCAC performer during their careers.  Coaches, Mike Bryant and Tom Manibusan helped the Spartans achieve an unprecedented level of success over the last couple of years and a 14-7 record during that span.
With the most talented team in many years, the Spartans also face arguably the most daunting schedule in the same time frame.  In addition to Hogans always-tough SCAC dual meet schedule, the Spartans will also take on CIF State Champions Clovis of Fresno, Delmonte Ranch of Neveda, SJS powerhouse Del Oro, NCS contenders Ukiah, Petaluma and Healdsburg at the Greyhound Classic, then off to Oregon where they will face defending State Division II Champions Nyssa, Regional Champs Crook County and Redmon, while being chaporone by Bend High School, District contenders.  They will continue their city rivalries with Defending SCAC Champions Vallejo High School and SJS Section contender Bethel High School.
ON A MISSION

Currently ranked #3 in the SCAC behind defending Champion Vallejo and powerhouse Bethel High School.  The Hogan program have much work to progress, but don't sell short the Mighty Spartans, for they are a very resourceful entity.  Coach Tom Manibusan's main goal is to win an SCAC League Title.  A title that has eluded him last year after posting a 4-1 dual meet season and a playoff berth.  The coaching staff is looking for those individuals who are willing to take the challenge in becoming league champions.  Our first and foremost goal is to promote the Hogan wrestling program.  It lies in showcasing the best overall athlete at each weight class, with the duties to perform not only on the mat, but off as well.  Can you carry the tradition, dedication and work ethic that will be stowed upon you?  Make the scarifices needed to reach the next level and keep high standards in your academic eligibility?  By joining the Hogan wrestling program, you have made that commitment to yourself and teammates.  We are honored to recognize the following athletes who have made the choice for this upcoming 04-05 wrestling season.
