Hi cousin,
I wrote this very long note and then AOL threw me off and it was all lost. I
thank you for the material you sent and I have gone over most of what I
downloaded. We have many lines that cross but there is some discrepency in
generations and dates. I wanted to let you know my descent from Edward Hobart
who married Margaret Dewey.
Edmund Hobart born January 1, 1571/2 Hingham, Norfolk, England
marr. September 7, 1600 Hingham, Norfolk, England
died March 8, 1645/6
He was the son of Thomas Hobart and Audrey Hare
He married Margaret Dewey b. abt 1574 and died about 1633.
She was the daughter of Robert Dewey and Margaret Stayse (Although I do not
have reference to substantiate Stayse)
Their child Rebecca Hobart married Edward Bangs
Rebecca was born about 1611 and died in 1679.
Edward bangs was the son of John Bangs and Jane Chavis
Apphia Bangs was born October 15, 1651 and married John Knowles on December
28, 1670.

This is just in the file. I have not even looked for this marriage although it
looks as though he may have had several marriages. but not proven

Interesting
The Pioneers of Massachuttes
(The latter, Rev. Peter, grad. Magdalen Coll., Cambridge, 1625, minister at
Hingham 44 years, kept a careful diary of baptisms, admissions to chh. and
local items of great historical value,--wrote his name Hobart; but records
"March 8, 1646, father Hub-beard dyed; June 23, 1649 Mother Hobart died.")
Other children of Edmund, Thomas, Rebecca, Sarah, Joshua. (See Hist. Hingham,
etc).

By the way he was William McKinley's running mate, news to me.
There are many books written about Bishop Hobart.
The following is from the Jesus Christ Latter day Saints files and I am never
quite sure when to trust them as they have conflicting records on file.
John Hubba b abt 1300 La Tye, Monks, Eligh, Suffolk England
John Hobart or Hubbard b about 1300 ( here we have two generations same birth
date) I don;t think so.
Jeffrey Hobart b abt 1324 (These dates are surmissed by the submitter) in La
Tye. died 1409 in Monks Eleigh, Suffolk England.
John Hobart b abt 1349 in La Tye married Alinore Taylor abt 1370
Thomas Hobart b abt 1370 in La Tye, d abt 1458 in Monks, m. Eleanor Atchurch.
James Hobart b abt 1436 in Monks ( look at the age of the father, questionable
as to generation) died February 23, 1516 Monks. He married Margery Lyhart 1st
Dorthea Glemham 2nd and Margery Naughton 3rd. The children are listed
This is just a few of the references that lock up Edmund and Margaret. I do
think if I take the time and look in English References I will be able to
determine som authenticity to his parentage and ancestry.
