Parent Involvement
We like to have our parents help us learn so we invite them in to our classroom!  This year we've had them in for read-aloud, to celebrate the hundreth day of school, a tea party, a yard sale, Easter party, and a lot of other times too!
We had a lot of help at our yard sale.  The moms helped us buy toys and books with the money we had earned for 6 weeks for good work habits.  We learned all about money!
On the 100th day of school we each brought in 100 of whatever we wanted!  We counted them all and sorted them out along with the book The Hundred Hungry Ants by Elinor Pinczes.
One of our moms helps us at the 5 cent table!
On the 100th day of school we practiced counting to 100 by 5s and 10s by jumping rope and shooting baskets!  Look at us jump!
This was the snack we had on the 100th day of school!  yum!
For 25 weeks of school we all take a Weekend Learning Packet home.  They have activities we can do with our moms and dads to learn even on the weekend!  We also send home books we've made, like our Capital Idea book so that our moms and dads can help us practice what we're learning in school.  The Capital Idea book had pictures and sentences for us to practice using capital letters correctly!
